Your privacy & control
Privacy policy.
Getting to know someone is personal. Here's how information is used when you apply, connect, chat and play on Commit.
Draft updated · For adults 18+
No advertising trackers
The current app uses internal usage analytics. We do not sell personal data.
Your area, not your address
Profiles show an approximate area, not your exact location.
Private date feedback
Feedback is not shown to the person it concerns. Authorised staff can review it.
01. Who this policy covers
This draft covers people who visit Commit, apply to join or use its dating features. Commit is planned to launch from the United Arab Emirates with an international audience. The legal business responsible for personal information and its registered address have not yet been confirmed.
The service is intended for adults aged 18 and over. Availability depends on the countries supported at launch.
02. Information we collect
- Real-date planning
- Acceptable date activities, your per-person spending preference, place and time suggestions, and your shared agreed plan. The app displays the lower shared spending limit; the other member’s individual preference row is not exposed. Editing preferences clears earlier plan selections so both people must agree again. Directions and official venue links open external services when you choose them.
- Travel discovery
- If you use In town, we store your Dubai visit dates, dating intent and whether you are open to meeting visitors. These settings help select introductions. Existing introductions and connections can see your active visit dates, intent and home city/country. Discovery stops after departure; existing conversations remain. We do not request a hotel or live location for this feature.
- Application & account
- Your name, email, date of birth, city, country and anything you include in your application. We also keep sign-in, account-status and policy-acceptance records.
- Profile & preferences
- Photos, profile answers, gender, who you want to meet, relationship and family goals, lifestyle, interests and availability. Some answers may reveal sensitive information, such as religion or sexual orientation.
- Conversations & games
- Messages you send, game statements and answers, choices, guesses and progress. These are saved so you and your connection can continue where you left off.
- Virtual café visits
- Invitations, agreed times, joining and ending a visit, avatar selections, drink choices, stories and activity answers. Each person's next-step answer is stored privately. Only a shared next step is revealed after both answer; individual answers are not shown to the other person.
- Introductions & dates
- Introductions, your decisions, proposed times, date plans, cancellations, attendance and feedback you submit after a date.
- Safety & verification
- Verification results and references, reports, blocks and records needed to investigate safety concerns. Information may also come from another member's report.
- Service activity
- Usage events, timestamps and technical error information that help us understand whether the service works and investigate problems.
Information comes from you, your activity in the app, people you interact with, and verification results. Please avoid putting identity documents, contact details or other sensitive information into profile text, chat or game answers.
03. How we use it
We use information to review applications, manage accounts, suggest introductions, support conversations and games, arrange dates, investigate reports and maintain the service.
Introduction suggestions use automated rules that consider your preferences, relationship goals, approximate area and availability. These affect who may be suggested to you; they do not guarantee compatibility. Chat messages and game answers are not inputs to the current matching system.
Some information is required to apply or complete a profile; without it, you may not be able to use those features. Games are optional.
Before launch: the lawful grounds for each use, and any separate consent needed for sensitive information, must be confirmed for the operator and each supported market. Accepting this notice is not blanket consent to every use of data.
05. Identity verification
The current development version uses simulated verification. A live identity-check provider has not yet been integrated. Do not submit identity documents to this test version.
The app keeps verification status, provider references, relevant dates and failure reasons. It has no identity-document upload flow. The information a future verification provider collects, including any document or biometric checks, must be explained before that service is enabled.
07. Storage & retention
Information is stored to support your account, conversations, games, introductions and safety records. Access controls limit who can read it. Private messaging is not end-to-end encrypted.
Retention periods and deletion procedures are not yet finalised. A launch policy must explain how long applications, profiles, messages, game content, safety records, technical logs and backups are kept, including any legal exceptions. We are not promising automatic deletion within a period that has not been implemented.
08. Your choices & rights
You can choose whether to play a game, cancel a date, and block or report another member. These actions do not by themselves erase information already stored.
Depending on the law that applies, you may have rights to access or receive a copy of your data, correct it, request deletion, restrict processing or withdraw consent where processing relies on it. Conditions and exceptions may apply.
You may also have the right to object to certain processing, including some automated decisions, and complain to the relevant data-protection authority.
In Settings you can download a copy of the information you have given us and ask for your account to be deleted. A deletion request switches your account off straight away; staff then finish removing your data, and that process is still being finalised. A working privacy-request contact, request-handling process and applicable complaint routes must be in place before launch. This draft does not remove or limit your legal rights.
09. International use
A UAE-based launch does not mean all information will stay in the UAE. Hosting locations, overseas recipients and the safeguards for cross-border transfers have not yet been confirmed.
The applicable UAE framework depends on where the operating business is established. Additional privacy rules may apply in countries where the service is offered. The final notice must identify the relevant arrangements before international processing begins.
10. Contact & policy updates
Legal business name, registered address and privacy email: awaiting confirmation. A privacy-request contact is not yet available on this page.
This draft will be updated when these details, providers, retention rules and applicable legal requirements are confirmed. The date at the top records the latest draft revision, not an effective date for a final policy.
